Cardinal Newman 1 - Oaks Institute
A gritty performance from the 1st's saw them progress to the last 4 of the Senior Shield - a good achievement boys - well done!
To be fair though - not the greatest performance but a gritty display against a team who preferred to kick us rather than the ball. Oaks were down to 10 before half time thanks to shall we say 2 missed time tackles, a little bit of niggle continued in the 2nd half after Steve Devine scored from about 2inches from a corner. This led to another Oaks player and Kev getting sent off - although by the looks of it Kev was punished purely 4 ducking a punch!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway can't help but mention that 4 2nd teamers were involved and obviously proved the difference!
